Justinas has 15 years’ experience as a culture manager. In 2017, he founded a reading promotion program “Children‘s World”, which organizes international children’s literature festivals, co-creation, and other literature promotion projects. Since February 2025, he has been heading the Children and Youth Literature Centre at the Martynas Mažvydas Lithuanian National Library.

Early Reading Promotion: Building a Sustainable Ecosystem

In my talk I will present the early reading promotion programs and activities implemented by the National Library of Lithuania. I will explore how these activities contribute to accessibility of books, engagement of readers, and professional growth of educators and librarians, will look into the challenges of creating a sustainable national mechanism for early promotion reading, and finally propose possible solutions and opportunities for growing a reader from her or his first days of life.
