Secretary at Central Library of Vilnius City Municipality, Board Member of the Lithuanian Librarians’ Association

Have a Master’s degree in International Communication. As a librarian, I have been working in one of the socially weakest and culturally diverse areas of Vilnius city, and I have learned how to work with all social groups, recognizing the needs of local citizens, especially children and youth. Started to work with one of the first innovative online projects in Lithuania, “Isl@nd of Openness for Children and Families:  Educational Bibliotherapy Programme”. Now working as the secretary at the Central Library of Vilnius City Municipality.

Bibliobus – The Travelling Library in Vilnius

Bibliobus is a modern mobile library that brings books and cultural activities to Vilnius residents. Inspired by Scandinavian examples, the Central Library of Vilnius City Municipality created this project to reach communities farther from the library branches.

Turning a truck into a welcoming cultural space was an exciting challenge that required creative teamwork. The result is a cozy, home-like library on wheels, where visitors can read, work, or participate in community events. Today, Bibliobus carries almost 3000 books and offers computerized workstations, comfortable seating areas, and even a lift for visitors with mobility needs.

Since April 2024, Bibliobus has been visiting five different neighborhoods each week, quickly becoming a familiar and beloved part of local life. Communities actively organize events, workshops, and book clubs. Bibliobus also participates in city festivals and various outings, reaching new readers and bringing cultural life to unexpected places.
