Director of the Lesya Ukrainka Public Library for Adults in Kyiv, is a public figure

She is the initiator of several library projects. In 2018, for the first time in the history of the Kyiv Pectoral Theater Award, the Lesya Ukrainka Public Library received this award for the Library + Theater project. In cooperation with the Scientific Library of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, with the active support of the Kyiv community and financial support from the Kyiv City State Administration, she initiated the creation of the modern digital library “Kyiv.” Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, it has launched the “Books in Pursuit” initiative to provide Ukrainian books to compatriots who have found refuge in various cities around the world. It has more than two dozen publications, numerous interviews, and runs its own blog, “Methodological Service of Kyiv Public Libraries.”

Library and War

In her video, Olga plans to show how Kyiv’s main city library has preserved its mission since the first day of the war, restructured its activities, and become a place of support and knowledge for Kyiv residents and visitors to the city.
