Head of the Centre for Communication Influences and Propaganda Research at Faculty of Communication, Vilnius University
Viktor Denisenko is earned his PhD in Communication and Information in 2016 from Vilnius University. The field of his scientific and professional interests includes propaganda, information warfare, strategical and political communication. Viktor Denisenko is the author of the book “In the Encirclement of Propaganda” (in Lithuanian language, Vilnius University Press, 2021).
Libraries as Resilience Fortresses
Viktor’s presentation will be focused on the role of modern libraries in the changing World of information. Nowadays, security conceptions are increasingly focusing on the question of society’s resilience. Disinformation, fake news, and other phenomena of information warfare are attacking people’s views and beliefs. It is harmful to personal resilience and the overall resilience of the state. In this situation, libraries can become functional centers that strengthen and improve people’s abilities to resist the influence of malicious information.
